Cups are the tool.
How they're used makes the difference.

When Cupping may be a good fit

The same tension keeps coming back
Your neck, shoulders or back feel better for a while — then the same tension returns.
You feel stiff or restricted
You keep feeling the need to stretch, loosen up or get things moving more freely.
More pressure doesn't feel like the answer
Sometimes tight, overloaded muscles don't need someone simply pressing harder.

Cupping is more than simply placing the cups

The technique is in how the cups are placed and moved, and how suction is adjusted.

Hands press down. Vacuum cups lift.
Vacuum cups lift the tissues rather than pressing down, giving us another way to work without simply adding more pressure.

Cups don't have to stay still
Cups can stay in place for a focused, sustained pull, glide across oiled skin to work through a broader area, or be repositioned to concentrate the work where it is needed.

Moving cups can feel more intense, so lighter suction may be used when the cup needs to travel across the skin.

Different results call for different cupping
There is no single cupping setting for every job.
Cup size, suction, placement, movement and time change depending on what the work needs to achieve.

How we approach Cupping Massage

We choose the technique around where we're working and what that area needs.
The technique follows the area
The back, neck, abdomen or a small area of tension don't call for exactly the same approach.
Cup size, suction and movement are adapted to where we're working.

It's where the cups work that matters
The aim isn't simply to cover as much of the body as possible.
Cups are placed where we want the suction to work — and some areas may deliberately be left without them.

Hands-on work continues what the cups begin
Once the cups have done their part, hands-on techniques continue the work with more focused pressure or movement where needed.

What about cupping marks?

They may look more dramatic than they feel
Cupping marks can look like bruising, but don't normally feel as tender as a typical bruise.

Not every mark looks the same
They can be lighter or darker, even on different areas of the same person.

They start fading within the first few days
Marks usually fade completely within 5–10 days.
